The University of International Business and Economics is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is one of the first batch of "211 Project" and "Double First-Class" universities. It is located in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The school has exquisite campus planning and elegant environment. It is one of the important bases for talent training and scientific research in China's socialist economic construction. The school was formerly known as the Senior Commercial Cadre School. It was founded in 1951 and was under the dual leadership of the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Education. In 1952, the Ministry of Trade was abolished and the school was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and was under the dual leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Education. In 1953, the school was renamed Beijing Foreign Trade College and was led by the Ministry of Foreign Trade under the entrustment of the Ministry of Education. In 1954, the Foreign Trade major of the Trade Department of Renmin University of China was merged into Beijing Foreign Trade College, and Beijing Foreign Trade College was established based on Beijing Foreign Trade College. In 1984, the school was renamed University of International Business and Economics. In June 2000, the former China Institute of Finance and the former University of International Business and Economics merged to form the new University of International Business and Economics, which was directly under the Ministry of Education. In December 2010, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Commerce formally signed an agreement to jointly build the University of International Business and Economics. The current party secretary of the school is Huang Baoyin, and the president is Xia Wenbin. After several generations of hard work and hard work of teachers, students and staff, the University of International Business and Economics has developed into a multi-disciplinary university of finance, economics and foreign languages ​​with six major categories of economics, management, law, literature, science and engineering, and with international economics and trade, law (international economic law), finance, business administration, foreign languages ​​(business foreign languages) and other advantageous majors as its subject characteristics. At present, the school has a graduate school and 18 colleges, as well as a sports department; it has 2 national key disciplines, 1 national key research base for humanities and social sciences, 1 strategic research (cultivation) base of the Ministry of Education, 1 education strategy and planning research center, 2 bases for the "Higher Education Discipline Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Plan", 1 cultural and tourism research base of the Ministry of Culture, 1 Beijing high-tech discipline, 7 key disciplines in Beijing, 1 Beijing philosophy and social science research base, 1 capital high-end think tank, 6 postdoctoral mobile stations, 7 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 11 first-level discipline master's programs, 12 professional master's degree authorization points, and 49 undergraduate majors. The school currently has more than 1,600 faculty and staff, including more than 1,000 full-time teachers. The school also employs a certain number of part-time teachers and foreign experts. This is a place where many heroes gather, with famous old professors and new talents among young and middle-aged teachers. A large number of experts and scholars who have received special government subsidies and have been employed as members of government academic institutions work at the forefront of teaching and research; most of the young and middle-aged teachers have studied or studied abroad, and have high teaching and research levels. Many of them have been rated as provincial and ministerial-level subject leaders and backbone teachers, and have been selected for the National Excellent Talent Training Project. The school currently has more than 16,000 students, including more than 8,500 undergraduates, more than 5,600 postgraduates, and more than 2,300 degree-seeking students studying in China. The students trained by the school have always been widely welcomed by the society for their solid professional knowledge and skills, proficiency in foreign languages, active thinking, and strong practical ability. Graduates are spread all over the country in foreign trade, finance, accounting, education and research and other industries, as well as state agencies and Chinese business agencies abroad, playing an important role in the development of my country's economy and society, especially the development of economic and trade. The school's academic research occupies an important position in my country's foreign trade and economic research field. It has more than 140 research units, of which the China WTO Research Institute is the only national-level key research base for humanities and social sciences in the country that studies the World Trade Organization. The total number of documents in the school library is more than 1.9 million volumes (items). The school sponsors and publishes a variety of academic journals, among which International Trade Issues, International Business - Journal of University of International Business and Economics, Japanese Language Learning and Research, and Journal of WTO and China enjoy a high academic status. The school press publishes more than 100 books every year and enjoys a high reputation among colleges and universities. The school is also one of the national bases for training senior economic management cadres, with a number of senior on-the-job training institutions commissioned by the government or co-organized with foreign countries. The school took the lead in establishing a school board in China in November 1989. Li Lanqing was the first chairman of the school board, Rong Yiren, Huo Yingdong and others served as honorary chairmen, and Wu Yi was the second chairman of the school board. In September 2011, the third meeting of the school board elected Shi Jianjun as the third chairman of the school board, and Shi Guangsheng, Liu Hongru and Chen Yuan as honorary chairmen. The establishment of the school board has played an important role in the construction and development of the school. During its development, the university has received extensive attention and support from home and abroad: government agencies, entrepreneurs, consortiums, and large companies have donated funds to the university to set up funds or scholarships, and many internationally renowned multinational companies have become sponsors of the university. At present, there are more than 20 scholarships and teaching awards established by social forces in the university, and there are more department-level funds. The university has established cooperative and exchange relations with more than 280 famous universities and research institutions in 51 countries and regions such as the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, Italy, and Australia. The continuous development of foreign exchanges and cooperation has made the characteristics of the University of International Business and Economics more distinctive in its education for the world.
